Both sides of the business is able to support each other with the development pipeline feeds the funds management arm and the funds management fees provides income stability so the construction and development arm can ride through the cycle.
Lend Lease has been underperforming the broader market like the S&P/ASX 300 market index. The Australian commercial property market is expected to step down a gear in the foreseeable future with the property prices is expected to remain weak. We think the development cycle is over for now and the construction business will be slow as well.
Even though interest rates are at record lows, the australian banks are still cautious which means credit is tight for residential buyers which doesn’t help the residential development side of the business.
